2022 Year of Travel in Photos
2022 was the year of “revenge travel” for many after two years of lock downs and stay at home orders due to Covid. I spent a good amount of the year traveling when I could.
The first part of my year was spent escaping the rain in Seattle with weekends in the American southwest. In January I returned to Albuquerque for a chilly MLK Jr Day weekend; staying at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort before a night at the dated Hyatt Regency downtown.
My birthday is in early February and I used my Wynn Rewards Birthday Dinner credit at Sinatra. I had the credit by doing a status match to Wynn Platinum.
For President’s Day I made my first of two visits to the family friendly Hyatt Regency Indian Wells in Palm Desert.
I visited the new Alila Marea in Southern California over a long weekend in March.
My spring break gave me a week to travel in April. I spent a few days in Honolulu at the Hyatt Regency and Centric followed by a few days in the Bay Area at the new Hyatt Kissel Uptown in Oakland.
My international travel for the year started in June with a flight from Seattle to Doha in Qatar Airways’ Qsuites.
After one night at the Park Hyatt Doha, I spent a week on a roadtrip through Jordan with stops at Petra and Wadi Mujib near the Dead Sea.
In July I explored the capital cities of the Caucuses: Baku in Azerbaijan, Tbilisi in Georgia and Yerevan in Armenia.
After a night of visiting Mainz for an extended layover, I explored Serbia and Montenegro by train and bus.
From Montenegro I flew to Luxembourg and traveled by train to rainy Bruges, Belgium and on to Amsterdam.
In August I returned to the USA via Helsinki on Finnair’s new Business Class product.
I took a break from travel until November with a final weekend visit to the Mirage Las Vegas before it transitions to the Hard Rock and Thanksgiving back in Palm Desert.
2022 sunsetted in December where I spent my break in Kona, Hawaii.
