Directions to Sphere from Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas’ $2.3 Billion music venue, Sphere, opened in September 2023 with a series of U2 shows. Instantly [the] Sphere has become an icon of Las Vegas as it glows with art (and ads) that can be seen from miles away.

Getting to Sphere from the Las Vegas strip isn’t easy. The Sphere is located half a mile (as the crow flies) from the strip. Most people going to a show at Sphere will be staying on the strip. You can take an Uber or taxi, but I imagine most people would prefer to walk rather than get stuck in horrific traffic before or after an event.

Walking

If you are staying central strip, the quickest way to Sphere would be by foot. First you need to enter The Venetian Resort. If you enter the main casino entrance, you will stay on the main floor and head towards the back of the casino. If looking on a map, you will want to find The Venetian Expo conference space. You can also look for “Restaurant Row” or even “Sphere” on the signage.

If you have time and are heading to the U2 concert, stop by Zoo Station.

During my visit, they had some nice signage that rotated through and actually pointed the directions towards the U2 concert.

You will walk through the Venetian Expo & Conference Center. If it is a concert day, there will be staff directing pedestrian traffic.

Once in the Convention Center, it is a straight shot to the back. If there is a conference going on, then you may be lead on a much less direct route (we ended up going down some stairs before coming back up).

At the other side of the Convention Center you can choose to either go outside where you will have to cross a street to end up at the Plaza Entrance or else go up to a sky bridge to the Bridge Entrance.

During the U2 concerts, the General Admission Floor ticket holders were directed to go outside to enter at the Plaza while everyone else was directed up and across the sky bridge.

At the Bridge Entrance to Sphere you get in one of the lines and scan your ticket from your phone. Then you walk through a futuristic metal detector and into the lobby.

Heading back after the show, you retrace your steps. Look for the sign for The Venetian.

It is a long walk from the strip to Sphere through The Venetian so wear good shoes. I would estimate from The Mirage, Wynn, Treasure Island or Harrah’s it is a mile walk. From another other properties like Caesars, Linq or Flamingo it is going to be longer. Anywhere south of Flamingo Blvd (Bellagio and Horseshoe) will be well over a mile.

Monorail

If you are south of Flamingo Blvd (Horseshoe, Paris, Planet Hollywood, MGM Grand) or north at the Sahara or Westgate, then you could take the Monorail. You would get off at the Harrah’s & The LINQ Monorail Station and then walk to The Venetian and follow the directions above. You might be able to save some time by walking the side streets of Krueger to Koval to Sands; following under the Monorail track to the Sphere entrance. Maybe someday the Monorail will get a stop at the Sphere but I’ve also heard the Monorail’s days are numbered.
