Changes to M life due to Corona Virus
Las Vegas is currently shut down. Even once the pandemic starts to get under control, people are going to be reluctant to travel and spend money. The casinos will reopen (maybe slowly) but it will be a long time before things get back to normal on the Strip. There is a good chance Cirque Du Soleil will go bankrupt and may not make it out of this. People won’t want to be packed into theaters and other shows will close. The tables will likely remain empty and many slots quiet.
The casinos realize this. Today M life Rewards, the players loyalty program for MGM Resorts, announced some changes to their program based on the current COVID19 crisis.
- Tier Status Extension – Whatever status you hold now you will get to keep until January 31, 2022. Normally your status would expire in October, 2020 unless you earned enough Tier Credits between October 2019-September 2020 to retain status. Remember you can status match back and forth with World of Hyatt.
- Earning Year Changes – For some stupid reason, M life had their year go from October to September. Well, that is changing . Now they will go by the calendar year for Tier Credit earning.
- Points & Express Comps Expiration – No Points or Express Comps will expire until at least September 30, 2020.
Caesars Rewards, the other big player in Las Vegas loyalty programs, has announced that they will have news shortly about their plans.
