On my way back from Europe this summer, I had a brief layover in London Heathrow. My flight to Seattle would be departing from Terminal 5 C gates. On the way over, I spent time in the North Lounge by the A gates. This time it made sense to try the lounge at the B gates (there is no lounge at C gates).
Back in 2017 I had tried the Galleries Lounge at the B gates, however since then it has received an refurbishment.
Most passengers will be arriving at the B satellite of Terminal 5 by way of the train. Head up to the main level of the terminal and you will see signs for the Galleries Lounge.
You can either head up the escalator or take the elevator to the Lounge.
Once in the lounge, you can check in at either side of the check in desks. To one side is the “Whispering Angel” branded self service wine bar.
On the opposite side is more seating, self service coffee, along with the showers.
The main section of the lounge has additional seating with some views of the gates.
Here you will find the self service full bar.
Most of the food is self service buffet style. I was there in the morning and breakfast was served.
There was also an area where you could order a selection of made to order items like pancakes and breakfast sandwiches.
The Galleries Lounge at the B gates is much quieter and more recently refreshed than the North and South lounge near the A gates. If you are flying out of the B or C gates with lounge access, it is the best option.
