British Airways takes up almost all of Terminal 5 at London Heathrow. There are three Business Class lounges in the Terminal — two (North and South) at the A gates and one at the B gates. During my 8 hour layover I opted to try out the British Airways Galleries Lounge North in the A gates area.
Just after you go through security, the lounge is on the same floor, all the way to the left. Those traveling in Business Class on BA (or another oneworld airline) have access as well as oneworld elites flying in Economy.
Just past the front desk is a luggage check if you don’t want to carry around your bags.
There is also a self service champagne bar sponsored by Bottega.
The lounge then opens up into the main seating area. This is where you can find the buffet. My visit was over breakfast and lunch. They had many options — both hot and cold items.
There is an “outside” patio area; still inside the terminal but more open.
There is a self service bar in the middle of the lounge. Additionally there are coffee machines and water at various locations.
At the far back is a small kids area.
There are also about ten shower suites that are basic but serve their purpose.
The lounge got progressively busy throughout the day. Most seats were taken and there was a line for the showers.
Overall the British Airways Galleries Lounge North at LHR Terminal 5 is busy spot where you can grab a snack and drink, take a shower, and possibly find a spot to sit. I would recommend checking out one of the other BA lounges in Terminal 5 if you have the time.
