Air France Lounge FRA

There is a section of the Frankfurt airport in Terminal 2 that includes D Gates 21-26 and E Gates 22-26. I was flying Finnair from FRA to HEL and left from Gate E22. This portion of the airport is pretty dismal. There is a restaurant, a snack bar, one duty free and one bookstore. The only lounge in this area is the Air France Lounge which is accessible by Priority Pass.

The lounge is located across from Gate D26.

Stepping into the lounge is like stepping back in time. It badly needs an update. On the day of my visit it was incredibly warm in the lounge.

There were two refrigerators with cold beverages.

There were also some snacks, including a few hot items, that did not look at all tasty.

There was plenty of seating; I have a feeling people didn’t want to linger in the lounge.

Even had the temperature been comfortable, it is clear that this lounge has not been maintained. Below you can see some of the stains on the well worn carpet.

There is not even a restroom in the lounge. You have to walk down the terminal to one of the public restrooms.

Air France has a number of lounges in non-hub locations. It seems to me that they would be better off closing some of them down rather than dilute their brand with these lounges.
