China Airlines Lounge Taipei Terminal 1 (TPE)

China Airlines Lounge Taipei Terminal 1 Review

After my Business Class flight from Frankfurt, I had a couple of hours in Taipei before heading on to Hanoi.  My flights both arrived and departed from the A Gates of Terminal 1.  The China Airlines Lounge is located at the end of the 4th floor closest to the A Gates, essentially above security/passport control (link to map).  If connecting through the A Gates as I was, you have to walk back towards the main part of the terminal (or follow signs towards B Gates) and then go up the elevator or stairs on your left.

The first lounge on the left is the China Airlines lounge.

After checking your boarding pass, the showers and bathroom is on the right.  Follow the long hallway of dark wood and stone down to the Business Class Lounge.  About halfway down on your right is the lounge within a lounge for those with China Airlines elite status.  Keep going past that to the main area of the Lounge.

The Lounge is quite long with the kitchen and buffet stretching down the middle and seating along the exterior.  During my visit the Lounge was quite crowded.

The seating areas include tables with chairs as well as more comfortable arm chair seating.  The design reminds me a bit of Cathay Pacific Lounges with wood, stone, and brass fixtures.

The Lounge has a lot of options for food.  My visit was during the breakfast hour and they had both Western and Asian options including noodle soups and dim sum.

Overall the China Airlines Business Class Lounge at Terminal 1 (A Gates Side) is lovely yet quite crowded.  There are showers, but during my two hour stay I remained on the waitlist and ran out of time to use them.  I didn’t find my visit to be a peaceful experience, but still worth a visit for the extensive food options and design.

Have you visited the China Airlines Lounges at Taipei Taoyuan Airport?  What was your experience?
