I received the above email today advertising the Hyatt Gold Passport point sale. I do not know if it is only for Diamond members or for any Hyatt Gold Passport members, please comment below if you received the offer. Some Platinum members have also reported receiving the email.
Update: Even if you did not receive the email, you may still be eligible (see info at end of the post).
When I clicked through I was given the option to purchase between 1,000 and 55,000 points at a rate of about 1.7 cents per point after the additional 40% bonus points. Points were significantly cheaper during the Daily Getaways promotion (if you could score the deal). I value Hyatt points at 1.8 cents each, so this is not a bad deal if you need to top off your points.
Also remember that this can be used with the 20% points back for point or points + cash bookings for travel through July 31 if you signed up for the promotion.
A reminder that per Hyatt Gold Passport terms, you may only purchase maximum 55,000 points per calendar year.
HT to rbAA at FlyerTalk for mentioning that if you didn’t receive the email, you can still check to see if you are eligible for this promotion by going to the HGP Purchase Points website, clicking on “Purchase Points Now” and then entering your name and HGP member number.
Did you receive the email about Hyatt Gold Passport point sale? Let me know in the comments (with your HGP status level).
Thanks Alan for the hint to the 40 % bonus offer.
It worked for me simply by visiting the HGP purchase points website which clearly stated the same prices like your screenshot. As a Gold member I didn’t get the invitation.
The account reflected the purchase pretty fast. I bought the points yesterday, checked the account today and it reflects the new balance.
BTW let me repeat a comment to the redeeming structure which I made at flyertalk.com: I am convinced the Regency Club upselling for 3,000 points per night for some rates is a great feature.
