NCL Luna Solo Studio Lounge Review

Norwegian Cruise Line has a solo class of cabins for solo guests. This includes the Solo Studio cabins as well as solo versions of other categories of staterooms.

Guests staying in the solo class of cabins have access to the Studio Lounge. Accessible by keycard and located on Deck 12 Forward, it is attached to the Solo Studio staterooms.

The lounge is completely interior so there are no views to the outside. It is divided into three sections, each with a door to a hallway of Solo Studios. Those guests staying on Deck 13 have an interior stairway to the lounge.

The first area is cafe area.

This is where you will find the self service beverages (which should be included with Free at Sea drink packages) that, during my sailing, served two beers on tap and two wines on tap. At one point they added a cocktail on tap. There is also a soda machine. If you don’t have a drink package, you do need to pay for these beverages. You tap your key card and then it allows you to pour a drink for 20 seconds. There was an issue with the machine when I tried it and I was charged $40 for one drink. After a phone call and visit to the customer service desk the reversed the charge. Hopefully just a glitch with the new ship.

There is also a free ice and water dispenser.

Against the back wall is the snack station and coffee maker. These are both complimentary. There are apples and oranges all day, while around breakfast there are pastries and the rest of the day they have pound cakes and cookies. Additionally there is orange juice in the morning and lemonade throughout the rest of the day.

The middle section of the lounge has a large TV with a number of live channels.

The last section, closest to my stateroom, just had seating. The stairs to Deck 13 were also in this third section of the lounge.

Through the door in the photo above was my room immediately on the right.

I was worried about noise but given that there only about 12 cabins on the hall and no one even has access to the hall unless they are in a solo cabin, it was very quiet. If someone was talking in the hall I could hear them, and I heard some doors closing, but I didn’t hear any sounds from the actual lounge.

I didn’t spend much time in the lounge, but it was nice to have the water and ice fill station and some snacks. As there are no coffee machines in the cabins, I imagine coffee drinkers would enjoy access to free espresso drinks. It seemed like most evenings there was someone watching live sports on the TV.
