The Davenport Grand is part of Spokane’s Davenport Hotels family, all part of the Autography Collection of Marriott Bonvoy. The original Davenport Hotel in Spokane has been around for 110 years, and in 2015 the owners opened The Davenport Grand next to Spokane’s Convention Center.
During my stay in March, 2025, the total for the room was $250 per night. This includes the mandatory $20 “destination fee” and taxes. Even if booking on points you will be required to pay the destination fee.

The Davenport Grand is one of the largest buildings in Spokane at 15 stories tall with 716 rooms.
Location
The Davenport Grand is located in Downtown Spokane near Riverfront Park and across from the Convention Center. It has a skybridge that connects it to the Convention Center and opera house.
It is about 7 miles from Spokane International Airport. There is valet as well as self parking on site.

Room
I was assigned Room 1153, a standard King Bed Guest Room. The rooms are quite large at 435 sq ft.
As you enter the room, the bathroom is immediately on your right. There is no door to the area of the bathroom with the sink. The flooring is an industrial carpet throughout except in the toilet and shower area.

The closet has a mini fridge, safe and bathrobes.

The main bedroom area is quite large.

The bed is against a mirrored wall with side tables on each side that offer standard power outlets (no USB). A switch on either side of the bed control an overhead reading light.

The bed faces a TV that is mounted to the ceiling. There is an Ikea style cabinet below it for clothing storage.

Two bright red chairs are between the bed and the window. There is also a built in desk/table with two additional office chairs. Under the window is an AC unit, which seems strange for a modern “luxury” hotel.

The window blinds are controlled by a button on the wall near the closet. The view out from the room is of the river and park as well as the opera house.

The furnishings of the room felt like what you might find in a modern Holiday Inn Express. It didn’t scream luxury and felt a step below a Hyatt Regency, which would probably be the most comparable brand (large convention hotel). But there were touches that made it feel luxurious like the recessed lighting and ornate door. With the hotel now being 10 years old, it could do with a refresh of the rooms with higher quality and more modern furnishings.
Bathroom
The design of the bathroom is strange. It is set up in a J shape, with a sink area with single vanity and large lighted mirror.

You also find the coffee maker in this area.

You then step into the tiled area with toilet to the right and shower entry to the left. A sliding door closes off this area from the rest of the room.

Opposite the toilet is the shower area that goes back towards the entry. It is a large open tiled bath with no shower door or curtain. There is a single wall mounted shower head.

The bath products are wall mounted in large bottles by L’Occitane, my favorite hotel bath product, and one that I associate with luxury (Four Seasons uses the same brand).

Gym
There is a gym located on the 2nd floor.

There is no pool onsite but you can use the pool of the sister hotel located several blocks away.
Overall
I was at The Davenport Grand for a conference at the Convention Center and it was extremely convenient. I didn’t try the onsite restaurant or bar, but there are various options within walking distances. For walking or jogging, the park across the street offers paths along the river.
The property is comparable to a Hilton, Marriott, or Hyatt Regency. The rooms are large, though slightly dated. The service all seemed good in my few minor interactions.
The original Davenport Hotel has much more character but if you are looking for solid hotel in the heart of downtown, The Davenport Grand is a fine choice.
