Alaska Lounge SFO Terminal 1 Review

Alaska Airlines moved their operations from Terminal 2 to the newly renovated Terminal 1 at SFO. They also opened a new Alaska Lounge, the second largest in the network, across from gate B6.

The lounge is located one floor up from the gate level, so once through the glass doors above you take an elevator to the check in desk.

Entry is $65 if you don’t have lounge access with your ticket or Alaska Lounge membership. If you are flying First Class on Alaska Airlines on a flight that is over 2,000 miles, you get free entry. If in First Class and less than 2,000 miles, entry is $35.

I was flying First Class and used my Amex Platinum Business card to pay the $35 which will be covered by my $200 annual airline fee benefit.

Entering the lounge, there is a seating area to the right.

This area includes two work booths where you can take a phone call without disturbing other guests. There are also lounge chairs with views of the ramp.

The other direction is the coffee stand and buffet. Tables with bench seats line the window.

The buffet is basic with a salad bar and a few hot dishes and soup. The food in Alaska Lounges is mediocre at best.

They also have their “pancake printers” available at breakfast.

Beyond the buffet area is more seating and restrooms, which are modern and clean.

The final area is the bar in darker colors and wood and leather.

The aesthetic is similar to the Alaska Lounge at the N Gates in Seattle.

While I wouldn’t pay $65 (or most of the time even $35), the Alaska Lounge is a good place to spend some time before your flight if you have access. It has plenty of light from the windows and a modern and relaxed feel (though not as high end feeling as some of the credit card lounges available).

Have you visited the Alaska Lounge at SFO in Terminal 1? What did you think?
