Purchasing Frontier GoWild! Annual Pass 2025-26

Frontier offers various GoWild! All You Can Fly Passes that allow you to pay an upfront fee and then book unlimited flights for $0.01 plus taxes/fees. The catch is that you can only purchase your ticket one day before the date of departure (or 10 days prior for international flights) and only if there is space.

This week Frontier began selling their 2025-26 GoWild! Pass that is good from May 1, 2025 to April 30, 2026 for $299.

Status Match

Back in November 2023, I paid $149 to status match to Frontier’s top tier (now known as Elite Diamond). Elite Diamond status comes with the following perks:

  • Free checked bags (2)
  • Free carry-on bag
  • Free seat selection including Premium Seats
  • Free upgrade to UpFront Plus – 24 hours before flight (if space) – First two rows plus blocked middle seat
  • Board First priority boarding
  • Free Discount Den Membership
  • 20x Miles/Points per $1 spent
  • Refund-ability up to one day before travel

During my year with Elite Diamond status, I flew Frontier a total of seven times. Every time I was able to snag an UpFront Plus seat (or Premium seat prior to the introduction of UpFront Plus). Overall the flights were comfortable and mostly on time. We did have to wait for a gate upon landing a couple of times but were never delayed more than an hour. Out of Seattle, there are limited destinations and the departure times are not ideal (SEA-LAS often isn’t scheduled to arrive until 1am). Frontier gets a bad rap, but so far I haven’t had any major issues.

For some reason, my Elite Diamond status was extended for another year through 2025; so I ended up with over two years of status.

GoWild! Pass

Today I saw that the GoWild! Pass for 2025-26 was on sale for $299 for the first 5,000 people to buy it. The normal price is listed as $499.

In addition to not being able to book until the day before your travel, there are a good number of blackout dates when you cannot use the Pass:

  • 2025: January 1, 4-5, 16-17, 20; February 13-14, 17; March 14-16, 21-23, 28-30; April 4-6, 11-13, 18-21; May 22-23, 26; June 22, 26-29; July 3-7; August 28-29; September 1. October 9-10, 12-13; November 25, 26, 29-30; December 1, 20-23, 26-31.
  • 2026: January 1, 3-4, 15-16, 19; February 12-13, 16; March 13-15, 20-22, 27-29; April 3-6, 10-12.

So why would I buy it? I’ll admit, it was a bit of an impulse. But I had reasons.

First, I work in education so I have summers off. The last few summers I have gone to Europe, but I keep thinking I’d like to see more of America. I figured this would be a great way to see some new places within my own country. I have the freedom to book last minute over the summer and don’t have any locations I must visit.

Second, this would give me opportunities to visit some new countries. Frontier serves 113 airports (as of December 2024). In addition to a ton of airports in the USA (including Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands), there are international destinations in:

  • Canada
  • Mexico
  • Costa Rica
  • El Salvador
  • Guatemala
  • Jamaica
  • Dominican Republic
  • Antigua & Barbuda
  • Barbados
  • Sint Martin
  • Trinidad & Tobago
  • Turks and Caicos Islands

Third, as an Elite Diamond, I also receive 12,000 miles/points for booking the Pass. While I have never booked an award ticket with Frontier miles, it is pretty easy to get a value of 1 cent per mile.

Fourth, all the Elite Diamond benefits will apply. So I’ll always get to pick any seat that is available, check bags and bring carry-ons for no cost.

Now, I’ve read some reviews of people that have purchased the GoWild! Pass in the past and have been very upset. Some of the complaints I’ve seen:

  • “They charge to bring carry-ons or check bags” – This won’t apply to me as I’ll have status so bags will be free.
  • “I can only book 1 day in advance” – This is clearly spelled out, so some people didn’t read the details.
  • “There wasn’t space on the flight I wanted” – I can see this being a problem, but I am going to be extremely flexible when I use it over the summer — including with dates and destinations.
  • “It won’t let me book a direct flight” – Some people are saying to get from point A to point B they have to go through point C. Again, with flexibility I am fine with non-direct flights.
  • “I still had to pay for the flight” – I am expecting taxes and fees. It looks like for most domestic flights it is about $15 in taxes/fees. International are probably quite a bit more due to airport taxes.

I have no idea how much use I will get out of the Pass. I’ve going to give it a shot this summer and see how it goes. If I absolutely have to be some place, I’ll pay for the ticket or use miles rather than rely on the GoWild! Pass.

I’ll make sure to post my experiences once the Pass kicks in.
