I stayed at the Grand Hyatt DFW a year ago. Since then, the hotel rooms have gone under a major renovation bringing it up to modern standards.
The Grand Hyatt DFW is a Category 5 property, which means (at least for now) it will cost between 17,000 and 23,000 points. I had a layover from 11pm to 5am and wanted a spot to sleep a bit and get a shower. The nightly rate was around $370. I had a soon to expire Category 1-7 free night certificate with Hyatt and decided to use. It was a horrible use of the certificate, but better than letting it expire.
I was proactively upgraded to an Executive Suite as a Hyatt Globalist. Hoping to make the most of my short night, I checked in online, stopped by the front desk for my key, and headed up to the room. I was assigned room 708, which is next to the elevators.

The renovation is extensive, starting with the hallways. Above is the update, while below is what the halls looked like previously.

Once inside, the bathroom is to the right while a closet and living room is straight ahead.

Inside the hall closet are robes, an umbrella, iron, clothes steamer and extra toilet paper.

Living Room
The living room has a large couch that faces the TV as well as a desk space.

To the right of the TV is the mini bar space, coffee set up, and safe.

Bedroom
There is a separate bedroom that can be completely closed off from the living room.

It has its own closet and vanity.

The window blinds are automated. One is sheer and the other black out.
There are a ton of outlets throughout the room; including regular US power outlets, USB-A and USB-C. There is a wireless phone charger on the alarm clock next to the bed.

Bathroom
The one bathroom in the suite is located back by the door (which is not super convenient if you need to get up in the night). It has also bee completely remodeled as the old bathrooms were dark with black tile and glass. Now the bathroom has a separate soaking tub, large shower, dual vanity and toilet cubicle.

The shower has both a rain shower and handheld wand. The bath products are all Ballmain.

The toilet has a built in Japanese-style bidet; though the remote wasn’t working. The toilet still lit up, was heated, opened the lid automatically and for some reason sprayed a mist.

As I had to leave my room around 3:30am to catch my flight, I didn’t have a chance to eat breakfast at the hotel or explore the other areas. However, I did check out the roof top pool on my last visit.
Overall the remodel is impressive and the Executive Suite is a great space. I wish I could have spent more than just a few hours there and wouldn’t hesitate to return; though the cash prices are pretty steep. Being connected to Terminal D gives it an edge over the Hyatt Regency also on the airport property (where I was upgrade to the Presidential Suite).
