The Chase Sapphire Lounge in San Diego opened in late 2024. I had my first chance to visit in early 2026 and was impressed with the size of the space.
The Chase Sapphire Lounge at San Diego International Airport is located in Terminal 2 near Gate 47. Currently it is open from 5am to 10pm. It is accessible with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card (for holder and up to two guests). Priority Pass holders get one Chase Sapphire Lounge visit per year (total, not per location).

You can either enter via the stairs or take an elevator to the upper floor where the lounge is located. When I got up to the lounge I feared it was closed, but as you step closer to the glass doors, they automatically slide open.

During my visit, around 8:00am on the Saturday after New Years, there was no line to get in and no wait. I imagine it does fill up as when I left I noticed staff on the lower floor adding guests to a waitlist.
The lounge is significantly bigger than either the Las Vegas or Phoenix locations. To the left of the check in desk is a beverage station.

Opposite the beverage station is a feature wall with surfboards. The decor throughout the lounge is going for southern California aesthetic with light wood and bright touches.

Beyond the surfboard area is room with only a few chairs that almost seemed like it could be reserved for a meeting.

There are plenty of other seating areas throughout the lounge, including a room with a faux fireplace.

There are plenty of views of the runway.

Even the men’s restroom has glass windows out to the ramp (the lower part of the window is frosted for privacy).

Back near the restrooms is a quiet relaxation or “wellness” area. These spaces can be reserved if you want a more peaceful area of the lounge.

There is also a treatment room where you can get complimentary 10 minute facials. Though the earliest reservation during my stay wasn’t until 11:30am.
Like at other Chase Sapphire Lounge locations, there are QR codes on each table and you can order complimentary made to order food. Note that you must be logged into the lounge wifi to order. The food has standard Sapphire Lounge dishes as well as a few local options.

Additionally there is a self service buffet; though I wasn’t that impressed by the breakfast items. They seemed to be going for unique rather than substantive like cucumber toast and chia seed pudding and something with figs.

Of course there is also a bar right in the middle of the lounge.

I love Chase Sapphire Lounges. I think they are probably the best domestic lounge network, beating out Amex or Capital One. The made to order dining is what really sets it apart.
Have you visited the San Diego location of the Chase Sapphire Lounge? What was your impression?
