Marriott on the Falls is located in the Fallsview area on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Originally the hotel opened in 1993 as a Sheraton. In 2000, the property added an additional 10 floors.
I visited Niagara Falls for one night in July, 2025. As I was only staying one night, I wanted to get a room with the best view of the falls. Reading reviews online, I decided on the Marriott on the Falls hotel. Note that there is another Marriott, the shorter Marriott Fallsview, just across the street. This review is for the Marriott on the Falls.
I booked a Superior Fallsview High Floor room with two queen beds. It was $439 CAD a night plus a whopping $121 in taxes and $16 resort fee for a grand total of $560 CAD for one night (or $409 USD). Fortunately I had an Amex Offer for $140 off a stay of $350 or more, so my out of pocket cost was a reasonable $269.
Location
Marriott on the Falls is located at the south end of the Niagara Parks tourist area in Ontario. It sits on the hill above Horseshoe Falls. To get from the hotel down to the falls at the Table Rock area, there is a funicular that is just a short walk. There is no direct pedestrian pathway down to the falls from the hotel, so prepare to pay to use the funicular. The Fallsview Casino and Skylon Tower are all within a 10 minute walk of the hotel.
Clifton Hill is the main tourist area of Niagara Falls. It is about a 30 minute walk from the Marriott on the Falls. That is where you will find all the tacky tourist attractions as well as the Rainbow Bridge into the USA.
The WeGo Blue Line Bus has a stop in front of the hotel.
Check In
I arrived at the hotel around 4:30pm after taking the Go commuter train in from Toronto. The hotel lobby is very generic but I was quickly checked in and was able to get to my room.
I was assigned room 3009 on the 30th floor. The hotel goes up to Floor 31, so I was just about at the top. There are just two elevators that go to the top floors, so it can be a bit of a wait.
Room
The room is a standard business hotel type room, but the view is what it is all about. The room has been updated since it was built in 2000 but it is still pretty basic. As you enter, the bathroom is on the right and closet is on the left.
There is a coffee maker and mini fridge. Two water bottles and some chocolate were also provided.
The room itself just has the two beds that face a TV and some seating by the large floor to ceiling windows.
The view is impressive and is really what you are paying for. .
At night you have a great view of the fireworks and light show.
Bathroom
Like the rest of the room, the bathroom is very standard.
The shower has a glass sliding door with a wall mounted shower head and handheld shower head.
The bath products were wall mounted “thisworks” branded. I was impressed that there were two bars of soap, as well as mouth wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shave kit, and other amenities provided.
Overall
I don’t typically stay at Marriott properties. The Marriott on the Falls didn’t wow me except for the view from the room which was spectacular. I noticed there was a small inside pool on the ground floor; but not much else in the way of amenities. The property does have at least one restaurant and a Starbucks, and there are many other options for food nearby.
I probably will never go back to Niagara Falls; but for my one visit this property worked well. I had an unbeatable view, even if I paid a lot for it. If you want to be right in the heart of the tourist action, I would recommend a high floor at the Sheraton on Clifton Road. But for the best view of the falls, I don’t know that the Marriott on the Falls can be beat.
