JetBlue has probably my favorite domestic product in their Mint Class. I also have found JetBlue to be a customer centric company, as they were extremely helpful during a past weather related disruption. I have flown it several times in the past, but not since COVID. I decided to try it on one of my legs home from Puerto Rico.
JetBlue has a new Mint product with upgraded seats, however it is not currently available on the BOS-SEA route.
I used points to book the flight. The total was 42,700 points plus $5.60 in taxes/fees.
My flight was on a plane that entered service in 2017 called “The Royal TreatMint” with a brand new paint job.
I originally had booked Seat 4F, one of the four “throne seats” that are the best seats on the plane where you have a true suite with a door and no neighbor. The man in 2F asked if I would switch as his wife and child were in row 5. As it was also a “throne” seat, I was willing to make the switch.
This flight I didn’t take pictures of the seat as it is the exact same seat I have flown previously. The seats are still in very good shape, even after 8 years of use. If you would like a review of the seat, please check out this post.
On the seat was bedding by Tuft & Needle. It was essentially a long, body-shaped blanket.
There was also a pair of Thinksound headphones. As the inflight entertainment system doesn’t offer Bluetooth, most passengers wont’ be able to use their own headphones.
Beverages were served during boarding though I was recovering from being sick so I just took a water.
When we were in the air, the flight attendant took our dinner order.
Before the meal was brought out, we were served some puffed pasta chips.
For my meal, I went with the wedge salad, orecchiette, and pan roasted chicken.
The food was all very good and a unique take on airplane food. The chicken was served cold which I am not sure was on purpose.
Dessert was ice cream with rhubarb compote.
Typically on JetBlue Mint flights passengers are provided with an amenity kit. However, no passengers were given these on my flight. I wanted to get some sleep and had hoped for an eye mask. I asked the flight attendant and she found one of the kits for me. I’m not sure if they just weren’t stocked or if the flight attendants just couldn’t be bothered to pass them out.
The current kits are Caraa branded. Caraa makes my favorite face masks so I was aware of the brand. I think they are mainly known for making purses and bags.
Inside is the standard amenities you would expect. Eye mask, socks, earplugs. Plus some face products and mouthwash. No toothbrush however.
While I wasn’t impressed by the flight crew, overall JetBlue Mint remains a fantastic way to fly around the United States. I have heard mixed reviews about the new JetBlue Mint seats as they are prematurely wearing out.
My understanding is that JetBlue is building out Mint Lounges in some of their hubs which will make Mint even more competitive for luxury travel.
Have you flown JetBlue Mint recently? How would you compare it to other airlines “business class” products?
