Delta Airlines opened up The Window Seat Shop, a temporary pop-up shop at Seattle Tacoma International Airport earlier this week. The store is set to be open between November 23 and December 8, 2024. Last holiday season they opened a similar space at JFK in New York.
Located across from the Delta Club near gate A1, it is a small temporary boutique shop that sells various gifts from locations around the world in addition to a few Delta branded items.
In talking with the staff, I was told that the strategy isn’t to make Delta a profit, but is instead to activate customer relationships and increase brand identity.
The Delta leather jacket (pictured above) is apparently a hot seller as it was sold out already when I visited on November 26 (only three days after opening).
Those with Amex co-branded Delta credit cards can earn bonus Medallion Qualifying Dollars (MQDs) towards status.
Not advertised on their website is another cool perk for people with an Amex Delta card. You can get a free personalized bag tag made out of a retired aircraft.
They will make it for you in the shop while you wait. I don’t have a Delta Amex currently so I wasn’t able to get one, but they looked pretty neat.
