ITA Airways Hanger Lounge Rome (FCO) Review

After my cruise on the Oosterdam, I was going to be flying ITA Airways in Business class from Rome to Frankfurt. In the Schengen area, ITA has a new lounge — the Hanger. ITA Is a member the SkyTeam alliance so elites with SkyTeam have access to the lounge as appropriate.

Once through security of Terminal 1, you must go up one level to where the various lounges are located. The Hanger is located across from the Plaza Premium Lounge.

The lounge is themed around a retro airplane hanger. There are lots of brushed metal touches. Overall it is an incredibly beautiful lounge.

After checking in, you go past a feature wall that has rows of airplane yokes with iPad’s playing scenes from various ITA Airways destinations.

Across from the yokes is a cement wall with logo and departures information.

The lounge centers around a bar decorated with Campari bottles. While cocktails are showcased, there is also wine and coffee beverages available.

There is also a small buffet with salads, meats, and pasta.

There are various seating options including small booths next to the glass wall with lights that look like airplane windows.

There are also quiet booths where you can take a phone call in privacy.

There are restrooms at the back of the lounge. One stall in the bathroom is labeled as a shower, though it was locked off during my visit.

While not a ton of options for food, the ITA Airways Hanger Lounge excels in aesthetics and beverages. It is a nice way to spend some time relaxing in an otherwise extremely busy airport.
