Artagonist Hotel Vilnius Review

I just finished three nights at the Artagonist Hotel in Old Town Vilnius. I booked using my Chase Sapphire Preferred card to use my annual $50 hotel credit prior to canceling the card. The total for three nights was $341.68 (plus a €2 per night city tax) before the $50 credit. This reserved a single room plus breakfast each day (prices would have been slightly less had I not included breakfast).

Location

The hotel is located on Pilies street, which is the main road through old town.

Two block north is the cathedral and rebuilt palace as well as the castle remains on the top of a hill. It is 7km from the airport. I took a Bolt ride share to/from the airport and it was €8 each way. I believe you could also take a bus if you wanted to save a bit.

Check In

My friend and I arrived around 1:45pm on a Wednesday. Both of our rooms were ready upon check in.

The lobby is a covered atrium; probably originally a courtyard. Breakfast is served on the basement level. There is also a restaurant on the main floor that we did not try.

Room

I was assigned room 406 on the 4th (top) floor. The single (“Classy“) room is the lowest tier of room and it can only be reserved for one person. There are plenty of rooms for two or more people as well.

As you enter, the bathroom is immediately on your right. Then there is an open “wardrobe” and the rest of the small room.

The single bed is tucked under the angled roof. The window can be opened and they provide a magnetized cut out that attaches to the window to block out the light.

The bed faces a wall mounted TV. Lights can be controlled bedside in addition to a panel on the wall.

Next to the TV is the complimentary coffee set up along with items that can be purchased (water, beverages, snacks). There is also a provided water filter for drinking water which can be used while staying at the hotel.

Back looking towards the entry is a small desk with a safe built in one of the drawers.

The room has an individually controlled air conditioning that works very well even on a hot day.

Bathroom

The small bathroom has an open shower (with both handheld shower wand and overhead rain shower).

A small sink is attached to the wall with the toilet opposite of the shower.

The bathroom has poor ventilation and during one of my showers, the steam set off the fire alarm in my room (fortunately not the entire hotel). The staff can up to check on my room and it seemed like this was a known problem.

The bath products are all large refillable bottles of C.O. Bigelow.

Overall the Artagonist Hotel offers a comfortable stay in the heart of Vilnius. I appreciate the option to save a bit of money as a solo traveler with a single room. I would recommend trying out the property if you visit Vilnius and want to stay in the old town.
