2023 Year In Miles

This year I branched off into a new form of travel: cruises. After promising never to go on a cruise after COVID-19, I found myself trying out Virgin Voyages and fell in love. I took four total cruises this year and already have more planned for 2024. This meant less time flying from place to place and more time on the ocean. Therefore, my miles flown were the lowest since I started SingleFlyer (with the exception of 2020 due to COVID).

For the first time in years, I didn’t earn status on Alaska Airlines. I ended up using up a lot of miles this year — and on these award flights I didn’t earn miles. I also will drop down to Hyatt Explorist status for 2024. I am going to try being less loyal and more brand agnostic for 2024 and see how it works out.

Here is a look back at my 2023 travel in numbers.
