50% Elite Qualifying Miles Bonus on Alaska Flights

50% Elite Qualifying Miles Bonus on Alaska Flights

Airlines are in trouble right now with the COVID19/Coronoavirus situation.  Alaska Airlines is headquartered in Seattle, the epicenter of the outbreak in the US.

We have already seen deep discounts on flights including $99 tickets to Hawaii on the airline.

Now Alaska Airlines is offering a 50% Elite Qualifying Mile bonus on all Alaska/Horizon flights until April 11.  UPDATE: Now extended through May 31.  Simply register now and get credited your bonus EQMs on your next flight.  It does NOT appear that this is a targeted promotion meaning anyone can register.

Elite Qualifying Miles are what are needed to earn elite status — MVP, MVP Gold, and MVP Gold 75K.

Details from Alaska:

Eligible members who register for this promotion before their first qualifying flight will receive a 50% bonus on elite qualifying miles earned on flights marketed and operated by Alaska Airlines or Horizon Airlines between March 7 and April 11, 2020. Mileage for qualifying flights must be credited to the member’s Mileage Plan™ account. Not valid on free or award travel. The bonus elite-qualifying miles awarded as part of this promotion apply only to the number of miles that count toward elite status qualification and will not be available for redemption. All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan program apply.
