Flamingo Las Vegas Flamingo Room Review

Flamingo Las Vegas Flamingo Room Review

Flamingo Las Vegas is an historic casino hotel on the strip.  Opened in 1946, the property was owned by Bugsy Siegel (and his many mob ties) and had a total of 105 rooms.  It is the oldest resort still in operation on the strip.  Today the iconic property has nearly 3,500 rooms and is part of Caesars Rewards.

Location

The Flamingo Las Vegas is located center strip just north of E Flamingo Road.  Directly south of the property is The Cromwell.  To the north is The Linq.  Directly across Las Vegas Blvd is Caesars Palace.

Check In

The lobby of the hotel is hidden back past the casino.  If you are arriving by Uber, it is just up the escalator and to your right.  As a Caesars Rewards Diamond elite, I was able to check in at the Diamond Check In area to the left of the lobby.  There were a ton of employees but only one was helping guests.  Still, it only took me about 5 minutes to check in.

I was assigned a Flamingo Room on the 23rd floor (out of 28) in the “Habitat Tower”.  The elevator bank to the Habitat Tower is directly across from the Flamingo Habitat as well as the buffet.  It is a short walk to The Linq.

Overall The Flamingo isn’t the biggest property in Vegas, but still be prepared for a bit of a walk.

Room

The Flamingo rooms have recently been redone.  The decor has a few hints of retro style that calls back to the early days of the property.  The colors are all pink, gray, and white.

As you enter the room, the bathroom is on your left and closet to your right.

The room itself is standard size.  I had a king bed so there was room for a sofa lounger as well as a table with two chairs.

The bed faces a wall mounted TV and cabinet with empty mini fridge and safe.

Floor to almost ceiling windows allow for a good view of Caesars Palace.

If you face the opposite side you would have a view of the High Roller, Flamingo Habitat, and pools.

Bathroom

The bathroom is clean white.  Textured tiles give it some character.  A single vanity is basic but functional.

The shower has half a wall of glass with a curtain that you pull across.  There is only a wall mounted shower head.

Speaking of wall mounted, the bath products are all refillable containers on the wall (including lotion by the sink).  The only single use item is one bar of soap.

Pool & Spa

There is a large pool complex, though it was closed during my visit in February.  I am not sure what parts are free for guests and what part are a day club.  It looked to me like most of it was a pool club.

The spa is small but there are 3 jacuzzis, steam room and sauna in addition to a gym.  If you are a Diamond elite staying on property, it is free to use.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Flamingo Room.  It is modern, clean, with some character.  The property is in a good location.  It isn’t as fancy as some other properties, but I would have no problem staying again in the future.
