American Express Lounge Melbourne Airport
The American Express Lounge, opened in early 2018 at Melbourne Tullamarine Airport is located in Terminal 2 with the International departures. It is run by Plaza Premium Lounges. Those with Platinum cards, no matter the country of issue, are able to access the lounge.
Most of the lounges in Terminal 2 are located on the lower level of the terminal. Take the escalator down and you will see the American Express Lounge across from the Qantas Lounge.
Once inside, the food and drink section is first. Self serve buffet, staffed bar, and help yourself sodas are located against one wall while cafeteria seating takes up the rest of the first room.
A wall with departures is opposite of the hall to the bathrooms shared with the Plaza Premium Lounge. There are no showers in the lounge.
The rear room offers semi private cubes for working.
During my layover, I spent most of my time at the Qantas Business Class Lounge that I was able to access with my Alaska Lounge Membership. However, if you do not have access to an airline run lounge, the American Express Lounge would make for a fine place to pass the time.
