M life Rewards Mastercard Sign Up Bonus – Free Night at Mandalay Bay
The M life Rewards Mastercard is laughably bad. The standard sign up bonus is 10,000 points that can be redeemed for $100 worth of charges at M life Properties. You are also automatically given Pearl Status. In addition, you get 1 point per every dollar you spend, with bonus categories of 2 points per dollar spent at gas stations and supermarkets, and 3 points per dollar spent at M life properties. In addition you get 1 Tier Credit per dollar spent, but you need at least 75,000 Tier Credits for any increase in status, so you are looking at $75,000 spend just to get Gold status (do not do this please).
Today I received an email offering me one “free” night at Mandalay Bay if I am approved for the card before July 21. It isn’t actually a free night. You are charged a mandatory resort fee of $37 + tax. The “free” night must be booked by August 21 for stays prior to December 21, 2018. Still, this is the first time we have seen a night included as a sign up bonus.
The terms and conditions do not mention any black out dates. Currently the most expensive night I see listed is for $322 per night. However most weekends you can find rates of around $150 per night.
Mandalay Bay was the site of the mass shooting in October, 2017 that left 59 people dead. It is not surprising that this offer is for Mandalay Bay in hopes of filling up guests rooms as the property has undoubtedly seen lower than normal occupancy rates after the attack.

I do not know if this is a public offer or targeted. The card has no annual fee.

Application must be submitted by July 21, 2018. Within seven days of approval, you will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to reserve your room. Once approved for the M life Mastercard, this offer must be booked by August 21, 2018 and is valid now through December 21, 2018. A daily resort fee including tax will be added to your room account, which includes select hotel amenities. This offer is valid for standard room types only.
