Hilton Phoenix Airport Review

Hilton Phoenix Airport Review

My flight would be arriving to Phoenix around midnight.  After getting my rental car, I knew I wanted to stay some place close to the airport before heading to Flagstaff the next day.  There are a number of Hilton properties in Phoenix and not far from the airport.  However, the Hilton Phoenix Airport was offering an award night for 25,000 points so I decided to go with it.

Location

The Hilton Phoenix Airport is located about 3 miles from the airport.  They do offer a free shuttle, however I had a rental car so didn’t use it.  The location is nothing special; likely the only reason you would stay here is to be near the airport.  There are a few other hotels next door but that’s about it.  There is no shopping within walking distance.

Check In

I arrived at the hotel around 1:00am and there was no staff in sight.  After a few moments, I called out and an employee came out.  I was checked in and told that breakfast would be served on the 4th floor in the lounge.  I was also given two bottles of water.  Not the most warm welcome but at 1am, I wasn’t looking for something warm and fuzzy.

Room

I was assigned to room 437, a King Executive Level room.  I don’t think there is any difference between a room on the Executive Level and a King Room on another floor.

The room is quite basic.  As you enter, the bathroom is to the left and the rest of the room is open from there.  If you are there with others, there is no privacy or space.  It is one large rectangle.

It seems that the room has fairly recently been updated.  The furniture is modern and all in good shape.  In one corner is a chair and foot stool.

Opposite is a desk, mini fridge, and TV.  Under the TV is a mini fridge.

I especially appreciated the charging hubs built in to the bed side tables.  They were somewhat hidden but included a standard outlet as well as USB chargers.  The desk had a similar charging station built in.

Next to the bathroom is a closet with safe and iron/board.

The window is a sliding door with a tiny patio.  My room looked out to the parking lot.

Bathroom

Like the rest of the room at the Hilton Phoenix Airport, the bathroom is utilitarian, small but clean and up to date.  I appreciate that the shower had a glass divider instead of a shower curtain.  No tub, but for a business hotel, I think that makes sense.  The shower head is very standard.

The products are the standard Peter Thomas Roth that are at Hiltons around the world.  There was mouthwash included which I don’t often see at the standard Hiltons.

Housekeeping left a bunny washcloth on the counter.

Executive Lounge

Hilton Diamond elites have access to the Executive Lounge at the Hilton Phoenix Airport.  Located just off the elevator on the fourth floor, it is located in what seems to be three repurposed rooms.

At breakfast, the standard breakfast offerings are offered; similar to what you would find at any basic hotel with breakfast included.  I believe if you stay over a weekend, you get breakfast in the restaurant off the lobby (which I have no doubt would be better than in the Lounge).

During the rest of the day, there are packaged snacks, soda and waters.

Pool

The Hilton Phoenix Airport is an oval shape.  In the center is the outdoor pool.  For a business hotel, it is actually a pretty expansive pool area.  Some first floor rooms have patios that open up to the pool area.

Overall

The Hilton Phoenix Airport is very standard business, airport hotel.  The Gold/Diamond breakfast is nothing special but it does the trick.  The location is actually farther from the airport than I expected.  If you are looking for a place to sleep before or after a flight, the Hilton Phoenix Airport will be a fine option.
