Being that the Hyatt Zilara Cancun is considered a resort property, there are a ton of amenities for guests to use; many of which are free of charge. This is a non-exhaustive list but hits on what I see as some of the main amenities at the property.
Pool
Probably the most important amenity is the pool. At the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, there is a huge pool complex. At first glance, it looks like one big pool. However, the main pool is actually divided in two under the bridge to Pelicanos and next to the swim up bar.
In addition, there are separate pools for the swim up suites. These pools are raised and have a stairway that leads down to the main pool. Anyone can use them as well, but I’m not sure why you would want to unless you were staying in the swim up suites.
There are also two “Jacuzzis”. They are essentially just jetted circular portions of the main pool. I don’t think they are any different temperature; the pool already is quite warm (at least in August).
There are cabanas and lounge chairs available for use by guests. During my August stay, it was first come first serve. The cabanas provide shade with curtains that can be drawn on all four sides. They also have waterproof pads and pillows. There is no charge for the cabana use. There are, however, three double-level cabanas on the beach that are available for rental. They are a bit larger and come with a bottle of wine.
Beach
Between the pool and the ocean is a powder, white sand beach. The water is fine for swimming and has waves but nothing too big. Both the sand and water were clean. There are a ton of cabanas for free use. Servers offer drinks; same as by the pool. There were a few people trying to sell guests various items but they weren’t pushy and gave guests distance. The biggest annoyance were the ants.
Gym
The gym is located on the third floor at the north end of the property. It has recently been completely renovated and is beautiful.
In addition to the standard work out equipment, there is a yoga/pilates room and outdoor lap pool.
Even the locker rooms are well done.
Spa
On the opposite side of the Hyatt Zilara Cancun from the gym is the spa. The treatment rooms are located in a building by Asiana.
The spa desk is located below the treatment room building. Behind the spa desk is the gender divided spa facilities. Be aware, in order to use the spa facilities you must wear a bathing suite.
There are two jetted tubs (different temperatures), a cold plunge pool, steam room, sauna and outdoor pool. I think any guests can use the spa facilities for free. Treatments are extra. I got a 80 minute massage for $175. Cheaper than Vegas but not a bargain.
Daily Activities
When you check in, the weekly schedule of activities is given to you. There are a ton of options, all of which are free. Yoga, volleyball, dance lessons, martini tasting, bingo, etc. We wanted to do a cocktail making class but when we arrived they told us it had been canceled. So it seems that the schedule is more of an approximation of what might happen. Most of the activities take place pool-side.
Shows
Most nights there is an evening show in the atrium lobby. The one we saw was an acrobatic act; somewhat like a simple Cirque du Soleil show.
They also had a salsa dance and Mexican themed show during my stay.
While the beach and pool are the main attractions at the Hyatt Zilara Cancun, there are many other options to keep guests entertained without leaving the property.
