Alaska Airlines is running a contest to win a seat on the charter flight to view the solar eclipse on August 21. Alaska contests are typically pretty creative, and this one is no different.
This is a full solar eclipse and the last one was almost 100 years ago; so pretty safe to say this is a once in a life time opportunity.
You must record and upload a 30 second (or less) video showcasing why you are the ultimate Aviation or Space Geek. I would guess props and costumes are encouraged!
Entries must be submitted by August 7.
Judging is based on three criteria:
- Relevance to Theme of the Contest: 34%
- Quality of the Video: 33%
- Creativity: 33%
Winner (and yes, there is just one!) will get 2 round trip tickets from their home airport to Portland (PDX), hotel room for two nights, and two seats on the eclipse charter flight plus a $500 Visa gift card. Knowing Alaska, there will be all sorts of fun on the flight.
If the winner is from Portland, not sure if they will be given two round trip tickets to another Alaska Airlines destination, but that would be my guess.
